Ryo's Insignia

Hello Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Trooper fans!

Happy Lunar New Year! It's now the year of the earth dog, which is good news for almost all Chinese zodiac signs. Here's to a great new lunar year!

And we're down to 6 weeks, so I'll keep this short and sweet:

  1. Early Submissions.
  2. Multiple Submissions.
  3. Avatars and Bios.

1. Early Submissions

In less than 6 weeks, all submissions will be due, but don't let that stop you from submitting your pieces early if you'd like! A few fans have already taken advantage of this and sent in their pieces. And it doesn't have to be all at once either. Feel free to send as much or as little as you're comfortable. If file size may be a concern, let me know; I'm very happy to set up a dropbox folder to accommodate large and/or multiple files. As always, let me know via your preferred contact method.

2. Multiple Submissions

The layout of the fanzine is still very open to change, but if you're submitting multiple pieces and have a specific order in which you'd like them displayed, let me know, and I can try to take that into consideration when putting the zine together.

There are a couple of options for the layout that I'm considering:

  • Group submissions by participant,
  • by type,
  • by main character, or
  • by character groups (troopers, masho, etc).

If you have a preference, let me know! I can't make any promises, but I'm always happy to hear some feedback on how participants would like their work displayed.

3. Avatars and Bios

Don't forget to send over an avatar and bio by the deadline. Feel free to identify yourself by real name or internet alias; if you choose to use your internet avatar, check the image settings to make sure it's to spec. Images from the net tend to be very low res, which would lead to a pixelated printout. If your avatar is only available at low res, try to send a very large version of it, like 5" x 5" instead of 2" x 2". This way, I can try to scale it down and reduce the pixelation.

As always, let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

In summary:

  • Feel free to submit pieces early.
  • If sending multiple submissions, let me know if there's a specific order in which they should be displayed.
  • Real name or alias are accepted for bios; check your avatar image settings to make sure it's up to spec.

As always, feel free to reply to this email if you have any questions, and take really great care of yourselves. Countdown 6 weeks!
