About MeBeing a comic artist is like being a gourmet chef: the fresher the ingredients are, the better. The ingredients available to a comic artist are stories, images, words, and design. The artist and chef must be able to work on an equal level with all the ingredients to find balance and unity; otherwise, the finished product will be bland and unremarkable. Comic Art is one of the most underrated areas of art and design, but it is one of the most versatile. A comic artist can provide a full, five-star, three-course meal: illustration, design, and storytelling. A single page of a comic holds a massive amount of information that, when mixed well, is a streamlined and flavorful experience that draws the reader's eye effortlessly from panel to panel, picture to picture, and word to word. While my actual cooking skills are amateurish at best, my ability to produce a visual feast to suit any palette is flourishing. I hail from Massachusetts and hold a BFA in Comic Art from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I've hopped across the country to Oregon and back to Massachusetts, where the culminations of my various life experiences are nourishing my artistic abilities. I've combined the East Coast ambition with the West Coast attitude to ensure meeting deadlines and creating high quality art without any office drama or stress. With versatility and creativity as my tools, and art and design as my ingredients, I will cook up fresh compositions and memorable images that leave readers wanting more. Résumé |
